Manchester Half Marathon 2019 · 13 October 2019 ·
So, we have decided to take on the Manchester Half Marathon. Don’t ask why! Actually, DO ask why…
We are putting ourselves through this challenge in support of an important charity called Arts Emergency.
Arts Emergency works with 16-19 year olds from diverse backgrounds who are most able to benefit from, but least able to access, higher education in the Arts, Humanities or Social Sciences. We want more young people in the UK who lack money and connections to be able to pursue arts and humanities opportunities. Arts Emergency is the independent social justice movement making this happen through their alternative to the ‘Old Boy’ network.
You can find out more about the charity here: https://arts-emergency.org
It costs £1,000 to put one young person through the year-long programme. By doing this ridiculously long run we hope to raise a proportion of the money needed for a person to be part of this programme helping towards Arts Emergency providing this valuable opportunity.
We would love your help! Any donation you are able to make, no matter how big or small, will make a huge difference.

PS: We also welcome playlist suggestions to get us round the course (and if there is anyone who has first aid training and would like to volunteer to drag Shelley across the finish line, we will also like to hear from you!)
