Great Manchester Run 2022 · 22 May 2022 ·

Every five minutes, stroke destroys lives. Take your place on the 10k or Half Marathon start line for #TeamStroke and help rebuild them.

Story

I'm running the Great Manchester Run for my Uncle David and everyone and anyone who has been impacted by a stoke, however big or small. My Uncle David is a kind and gentle sole who would do anything for anyone. He has recently had a very severe stroke and can unfortunately no longer communicate with us as a family. He is not the first person in our family to have experienced a stroke. Both my grandparents, Uncle David’s parents also had a stroke and this is my little way of trying to give back to them. In all honesty David prefers football to running but I’m sure he would be cheering me on if he could.

#TeamStroke! There are over 1.3 million stroke survivors in the UK, with 100,000 strokes happening in the UK each year. That's one stroke every five minutes.Stroke Association believes everyone deserves to live the best life they can after stroke. Your support will help them to provide vital services, campaign for better stroke care and fund research into preventative and rehabilitative treatments. Help me raise as much as possible to help rebuild lives after stroke - thank you!
