Christmas Appeal
Campaign by Team Kenya (RCN 1169045)
Help us give Beatrice a Christmas gift like no other - the gift of education, confidence and freedom. We want to raise £600 to support Beatrice through the rest of her education!

Story

Team Kenya is a charity that involves entire communities in Ndhiwa, western Kenya, in gender equality to tackle barriers that prevent young girls from accessing quality education.

Currently in Ndhiwa, only 50% of girls complete primary school and 62% of girls have experienced sexual violence or threats within school. Over 25% of the population are also HIV positive, with teenage girls most at risk due to a lack of education and generally accepted attitudes towards sexual abuse and the exploitation of girls.

On 14th February, we will travel to Nairobi to climb Kenya's tallest mountain and the 2nd highest in Africa, in aid of Team Kenya! It will take us 4 days to reach Mount Kenya's Point Lenana, at 4,985m. After we have completed the Mount Kenya trek, we will be visiting some of Team Kenya's partner projects to see, first-hand, the positive impact that your fundraising has had.

All costs for the trip have kindly been covered by my employer, Mount Cook Adventure Centre, so any money raised will be donated directly to Team Kenya! Everyone has the right to access quality education, so please help us help them by making a donation. Thank you for your support!
