No - I've never a run a marathon before and I'm terrified but that's the challenge!

I've committed to help raise money for this cause. It isn't going to make headlines, because nobody wants to talk about being lonely but it is something that effects us all. You might think of your elderly neighbour who can't get out to see people, but there's so many others who suffer from loneliness and don't feel they can talk to anyone about it. Those who've suffered marriage break-ups, full time carers, students whose families live away,  can all struggle with loneliness. 

Small gestures can go a long way to remedy this and with the support of The British Red Cross I hope that fewer people will feel that that they can't talk about being lonely.
