Victoria's Sleep Out For Homeless People

Victoria Lightfoot is raising money for Centrepoint

Victoria's Sleep out for Homeless People · 11 December 2021

Centrepoint is the UK’s leading youth homeless charity. Together with our partners, we support over 16,000 16-25 year olds into a home and a job every year. Our award-winning helpline provides support to vulnerable young people across the country. We campaign to end youth homelessness by 2037.

Story

My name is Victoria Lightfoot and I am nine years old.

You may remember last year I did a fundraiser for an incredible charity. I would like to thank each and everyone of you that donated because all your donations contributed to raising a whopping £1000 to help change children’s lives for the better.

Imagine not having a house to go back to, not having fresh clothes to put on, not having enough food. We all take that for granted but there are thousands of young people out there today just like us who aren’t nearly as lucky. Centrepoint is an amazing charity who gives those young people food, drink, fresh clothes, temporary shelter and provides them with a range of job opportunities that they would not have had before. I will sleep outside every day for one week to raise money for this inspiring charity.

I chose to do it at this time of year because it is the coldest but the homeless have to sleep outside in any weather. It would mean a great deal to me if you made even the tiniest of donations. Remember it’s not for me it's for them.
