At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Sadly, my dear Nanna passed away on the 26th January after fighting a battle with alzheimers, it has been especially hard for my Dad, Aunties and Uncles, and everyone who loved her, she had a long life at 83, and we are all very greatful of the wonderful memories she left behind. The reason I have chosen a 60 mile bike ride in her memory is because I recently fell off my bicycle and broke two ribs and my arm so its going to be especially tough for me to get back into cycling as I havent cycled since, but shes worth every mile.

If I can make a difference to another family so that they can cherish those family momemts a little longer then I have achieved my goals. The aim is to raise enough money to donate to the alzhiemers society so that they can continue researching more ways on how to slow the process down and hopefully, maybe one day, there will be a cure.

Thanks for reading my story, please find time to donate as little as £1.00!! You will make every penny worth while, especially after sitting on that saddle for 8 hours. Ouch!
