Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Our beautiful son, Oscar was born on 17th April 2007, 12 weeks early. As soon as he was born he was rushed to the neo-natal unit, meaning we didn't see him until he was a few hours old.

When he was one day old he was taken to Southampton hospital, who have a remarkable neo-natal intensive care unit, and would give him the best chance.

He seemed to be responding well to the care given in the NICU, but when he was 3 days old he suffered a devestating series of brain haemmorhages, which he couldn't fight back from.

So, on Friday 20th April 2007, we got to hold our first baby for the first, and last time. We had four wonderful hours of cuddles with Oscar before he slipped away in our arms. We have been left heartbroken.

Without the support and facilities provided by SANDS we would not have been able to spend every moment of Oscar's short life by his side.
