Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some of you will know, my dad, Victor was diagnosed with colon cancer last August. Fortunately it was caught early enough and the doctors were able to remove the cancer through surgery. He recovered amazingly well and by Christmas time he was getting back to his silly self.
In January, he unfortunately started to feel unwell and was back and forth to hospital over the following months.
On 7th May we received the news we had been dreading. He had pancreatic cancer and was given weeks to live. He was admitted to the Princess Alice Hospice on 18th May and sadly passed away on 27th May.
Whilst this time was horrendous for us all, the Princess Alice Hospice provided incredible care not only for my dad, but for us all as family and friends. They made us endless cups of tea, were always happy to talk or just give us a hug. They made this difficult time just that little bit easier.
As a charity, they rely heavily on donations and receive very little from the NHS. That is why my family and I are doing a 5km Glow in the Park walk on 31st August. I am asking for any donations, however small they may be, to allow this wonderful place to continue providing care and support to those who will sadly need it.
