Story
The Viera Gray Care Home in Barnes, SW13 is seeking to raise £6500 to purchase a Tovertafel, which is a magic table. It projects a series of games onto its top which are perfect for dementia sufferers to play. It gets their muscles moving, loosens up their joints, and gives them a bit of fun too!
Featured on the BBC, the Tovertafel helps not only dementia sufferers, but also the elderly in general, keeping their minds active,
their joints mobile and their muscles supple. You can see it in action here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/stories-45642031/magic-table-aims-to-help-patients-with-dementia
I recently visited my elderly former neighbour Jill at the Viera Gray Care Home, and saw their fundraising signs. I’d love to help them on their journey to purchasing this expensive bit of kit. Plus, the Tovertafel features video games, and I love to champion the idea that Information Technology (IT) really can help change lives for the better.
