Story
In mid-September, I climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro via the Shira Route, to raise money for ‘The Darjeeling Children's Trust (DCT)’ a Charity working with local schools and orphanages and employing local people in Darjeeling (India).
For those that know me well, this was not a natural environment for me, let alone for 8 nights in sleeping bags up an African Mountain, with no hot water, no wifi (!) and 100km of hiking.
The summit of Mt Kilimanjaro is the highest point in Africa – that was the target.
The Darjeeling Childrens Trust, is an extremely focused charity, with a 5-year development plan in place, and a great vision for the future, set-out and managed by its trustee's - for the well-being and development of the Children in Darjeeling.
