The Sleep Walk 2018
Campaign by Rowcroft Hospice (RCN 282723)
Hello there me lovers! Join Babs the sheep and her farmyard friends on Saturday 7 July for stacks of fun at the baa-rilliant ladies-only Rowcroft Sleep Walk!

Story

I am doing a 10 mile sleep walk for Rowcroft. I don't really walk anywhere so it's going to be a shock to the system haha. Rowcroft have helped many people I Know. They supported and still support my own mum through her cancer treatment and after care. They were there for one of my best friends Roxanne and her family when her mum was terminally ill and really kept her mum comfortable.  They also were a huge part of my other best friends Danielle's mum (Sarah) and her family and friends lives.

Sarah was a huge part of my teenage life I used to visit her house almost every school lunchtime throughout my teens we also used to bunk off school at her house and she would return from work tutting at us. When she had cancer the first time round I was completely gutted for her but she was given the all clear and then it returned. This time terminal this was so hard to watch Sarah deteriorate before our eyes, watching her kids lose their mum was one of the saddest things I've witnessed. Sarah's cervical cancer came back in her scar tissue this then spread. Sarah was one of the most loving ladies I know. I really felt welcomed at her house she was the type of lady whose house you could go in and snuggle up on her sofa. When she was going through a really shit time she still always checked up on my life and the shit times we had with Tiana' s health and education. Forgetting her own health to help give advice to others. She was the kindest most loving woman with the biggest heart and even bigger laugh and grin. Her laugh was infectious (i can hear it now in my head).

I felt it an absolute honour to be able to spend Sarah's last breath with her sharing memories and laughs with her family and making sure she was comfotable. She spent her final days in Rowcroft hospice. It was relaxed and airy the staff were very caring and they do the most awesome job making everyone comfortable physically and emotionally whilst doing what must be one of the most mentally straining jobs.

Please help support me by donating whatever you can.REMEMBER every penny helps whatever you can afford even if it's 50p I would greatly appreciate it.

Not only am I doing this for My mum, my mother inlaw, my auntie Lynn, my uncle mike and many others who have all survived cancer I am doing this in memory of Kathleen Bianco  (Roxannes mum) and the children she leaves behind -Roxanne and Charleen as well as her 6 grandchildren. I am also walking this in a very loving and strong memory of Sarah Pullin the lady who made me feel like family. I am also showing support to her 4 children Danielle, Russel, Rhian and Conrad So they know I will never forget their mum and know that I am still always here for them. Aswell as them I am walking this for Sarah's step granddaughter Lilian and her 2 grandsons who she never met- Lennon and Brodie she will be watching down on them all and proud of everything they have achieved and how they've stuck together over these tough times.

Remembering all those survivors , warriors and people who we have lost.
