Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have decided to commit to riding a total of 700km in 7 days, riding 100km each day from 29th March to 4th April in support of World Autism Awareness Week.
My son Luke was recently diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum, although we have been waitlisted for 3yrs so it wasn’t unexpected. A diagnosis means that he will get the support he needs in school from the local authority teams and we can access resources outside of school.
He needs (and gets) 1-2-1 support in school to access learning and help him with his social skills; and to understand and learn behaviours that are inherent to neurotypical people but need to be learned by neurodiverse. His school are doing an amazing job and we want him to reach his potential as an adult, and this is where the National Autistic Society comes in to raise awareness of the skills of the neurodiverse and to help create working environments that meet the needs of these amazing people.
So please support me to raise awareness of autism. Chamois cream donations are welcome as well. I will be quite saddle sore by the end!
