Vine Trust - Inca Trail trek · 31 March 2009

Vine Trust is an international development charity that works with long-term partners in Tanzania and Peru, supporting construction projects and strengthening local health systems for vulnerable communities. We create empowering learning opportunities and transformative experiences for volunteers.

Story

In October 2009 we will be travelling to Peru to support the work of the Vine Trust.

The first week will be spent as part of a Work Party, helping to build accommodation for Street Children. We will be making adobe bricks (mud and straw), the basic construction material for the buildings.

The challenge of the second week is to complete the Inca Trail.

Following ancient paths through the high Andes, the Inca Trail is rated by many as among the top 5 treks in the world. The 4 day trek crosses dramatic mountain passes and visits many Inca sites before reaching its destination at  Machu Picchu, the fabulous 'Lost city of the Incas'.

We have met all the costs of the trip ourselves and any sponsorship raised will go directly to the work of the Vine Trust.

Thank you for your support.
