Story
Today Vinnie being just 5 years of age was doing his daily mile walk whilst on current lockdown due to coronavirus and suddenly decided he'd like to run 100 lengths of the local playing field to raise money for charity like the other very kind thoughtful children who have been doing so. He said mummy I want to raise money for the people who are dying from the virus and the old people who are alone, cause I dont want them to be alone like the old man round the corner.
Vinnie set the goal he thinks he can reach which is 100 lengths in 14 days before he starts back at school. The playing field is around 250meters in length which would mean he'd need to do around 7 lengths per day. Doesn't sound a lot but for his little legs it is!
Under the current circumstances during lockdown I feel so proud of Vinnie that he's aware and so thoughtful of the elderly. Wanting to make sure they're ok and not lonely at such a sad time being unable to see their familys and limited to what they can do within the household.
Very proud mummy and daddy!! XxX
Most people will feel lonely at some point in their lives. It’s a deeply personal experience that - in most cases - will thankfully pass. Sadly, 2.65m older people feel they have no one to turn to for help and around 3.9m older people consider TV to be their main form of company. Donating to this page will help the national Age UK to continue providing vital services that offer companionship, advice and support for older people facing later life alone.
