Emergency appeal to reduce the spread of COVID-19 among the indigenous groups of the Colombian and Brazilian Amazon

Story

Emergency appeal to reduce the spread of COVID-19 among
the indigenous groups of the Colombian and Brazilian Amazon.

Dear Friends.

This year, we are unable to host a party for our birthday. We all are suffering the consequences of the coronavirus in different ways. However, some communities such as indigenous in Colombia and Brazil are more vulnerable and are facing a new threat for their extinction.

Would you buy me a drink for my birthday? I am sure you would. This time, I am asking you to spend that money for our friends in the Amazon. Indigenous peoples have been living in respect with the nature for centuries. They are the guardians of the world's biodiversity. They are our friends and they need us now more than ever. Also, Giving makes us feel happy!

Rainforest concern has different projects around the world. I was particularly interested in one taking place in the Yaigojé Apaporis National Park located in the Colombian Amazon. 1.1 million hectares with key species such as Jaguars, giant ant-eaters, pink dolphins and manatees. That is why I decided to support their Coronavirus Emergency Appeal and I hope you can do it too.

Thank you and Cheers to you!

Rainforest Concern was established as a UK registered charity in 1993 to protect threatened natural habitats and the biodiversity they contain, together with the indigenous people who depend on them for survival. In 25 years we have helped to protect 2.2 million hectares of threatened forests.
