Story
I am a runner. In April I was scheduled to run my 8th consecutive Boston Marathon. The COVID-19 pandemic first postponed, then cancelled this year's race. Instead, the Boston Athletic Association is hosting a "Virtual Boston Marathon Experience." I'll be running 26.2 through the streets of my own neighborhood, downtown Plymouth (DTP) this fall. But I don't want to just run, I want to also use this as an opportunity to "make a difference" in the world. I know that Cass Community Social Services (CCSS) does just that and so part of my training will include raising money for CCSS. I have set a goal to raise $5,000 before September 12th. If you'd like to help me achieve my goal, please donate today and join my virtual team. Together we can make a difference.
Never heard of CCSS? Well... they are awesome! For more than 20 years, Cass Community Social Services has responded to people living in areas of concentrated poverty with food, housing, health/mental health care and vocational programs. Today, the agency prepares and serves 700,000 meals annually, provides shelter and housing for 300 homeless men, women, and children nightly, offers two free medical clinics, and a day program for 130 adults with developmental disabilities, as well as jobs for over 80 unemployed adults.
