This morning, when my husband was watching a football match between Liverpool and Manchester United, I caught a glimpse of this little ads:

“Can you see this message? Millions can’t.”

This strikes on my head and keeps me thinking, there’re something
about this cause that piques my curiosity.

What are they doing?

Then, you know, it’s like a destiny that leads me to my laptop, searching for Seeing Is Believing charity and finally taking me to this page, Just Giving fundraising page.

The reason why this cause catches my attention and transforms me completely, you know, this is the first time in my life that I write a fundraising letter for a cause that I just found out about 5 minutes ago, it’s because the cause really resonates with me. I can’t imagine how I am if I were unable to see everything around me.

Remember when I was at high school, I’ve experienced the feeling that I couldn’t see things clearly whenever I woke up. At that time, I think maybe I just didn’t get enough sleep. But things became worse and worse. That feeling scared me. Fortunately, I’m just someone who needs a pair of glasses to see things clearly. 

Life’s still beautiful.

However, for many people that are less fortunate than you and me, they have to suffer from avoidable blindness. It’s because they can’t get access to proper eye-care to help eliminate their blindness.

Meanwhile we can go outside, enjoy fresh air, beautiful sunshine, green trees and blue ocean, they can’t. For them, the world is just one color: Black. Maybe they don’t even know it’s black because for them there’s
no white, no blue, no red to compare with the black color of the dark they always feel.

Let's meet Kumran from India who was suffering from retinopathy of prematurity that may cause him to needlessly lose his vision. And he could have faced a lifetime of blindness.

Can you imagine that? A lifetime of blindness for a baby that has no idea about this life, he's too innocent, he's too adorable, he's too small. Luckily for Kumran, with the help of the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust and the Public Health Foundation of India under the support of Seeing Is Believing charity, he was no longer at risk of losing
his sight after getting through four times of laser treatment. He is now safe with his normal vision, thanks God!

But how about other babies who can’t get proper treatment?

They have to suffer.

That’s why you and I, my friend, we have a mission to change that.
