Story
For the last 2 years, every spring, I have initiated the £20 Challenge to Save Hythe Pier. All the supporters of Hythe Pier Heritage Association have been encouraged to have a cake sale or do sponsored challenges like walks on Hythe Pier, or being without their screens/chocolate/cakes for a day/week! All sorts of wonderful things have happened and over the last 2 years ~£9000 has been raised from £20 Challenges, thanks to our community support!
This year is different....Blue Funnel Ferries are giving Hythe Pier to HPHA, we can start our 5 year project to really Save Hythe Pier and so the focus this Spring is on ACTION! We will be giving the entrance to the Pier a facelift and then celebrating with our first event on the pier - 'Spring Into Action on Hythe Pier' on 11th May.
So, rather than £20 Challenges this spring, let's use our energy to take action on Hythe Pier and plan amazing events and super fundraising throughout 2019 to make a difference to OUR Hythe Pier!
If you would like to make a donation because you are NOT doing a £20 Challenge this year, or because you WON'T be asked to sponsor someone....that would be amazing and will help progress the HPHA's plans to preserve, protect, restore and improve the pier, train and buildings.
