Ovacome is the national UK ovarian cancer charity focused on providing support to anyone affected by ovarian cancer. We are a strong community working together with the aim of reducing isolation, sharing information, promoting knowledge and supporting anyone affected by the disease.

Story

Viv was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in December 2014. She was due to go on the catwalk at a fashion show to raise money for this charity in London this year but unfortunately she became too ill to take part and passed away on 1st June.

Viv felt that ovarian cancer does not have a high enough profile and lots of women are not aware of the symptoms.  It's usually misdiagnosed and not picked up until a late stage

The charity was founded and is run by women with ovarian cancer themselves and is therefore especially sensitive to the needs of women with this devastating diagnosis. They have been supporting women affected by ovarian cancer and their families since 1996. Their specialist support team give expert guidance, personalised clinical and research information, emotional support and resources for women diagnosed with ovarian cancer or worried they might be at risk.  They offer each other encouragement, knowledge, understanding and friendship creating a much needed support community.
