Story
I will be holding a charity event on Saturday 15th June at Pinner Methodist Church to raise money for the Transverse Myelitis Society. Harrow Apollo Male Choir will be singing many well-known songs, including some from West End shows. Light refreshments will be provided during the interval and tickets are £10.
If unable to attend, a donation will be greatly appreciated for this small charity which does some amazing work with just a few volunteers but helping so many who are affected with this very rare neurological condition that I was diagnosed with five years ago. An inflammation in the spinal cord causes spinal cord damage, often resulting in paralysis plus motor and sensory issues which can happen overnight.
The Transverse Myelitis Society has over 2000 members and provides information and support to people with TM, many of whom are children and young people, plus their carers and families. In addition to arranging quarterly support group meetings around the country, the TM Society funds neuro- physio bursaries, mindfulness coaching and equipment grants ranging from power wheelchair adaptions to electronic front door access systems etc and relies on an expanding number of unpaid volunteers supporting the services to gradually expand.
Hoping for your support in providing the additional funds needed to help the Transverse Myelitis Society continue its practical and emotional help to the TM-ers.
