Emee is running the 2020 London Marathon in memory of Nana!

London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·
As many of you know I lost my dear Nana to Alzheimers and Dementia.
This is something extremely close to my heart. Nana was a huge part of my life helping raise me as a child to support my parents. I was lucky to have her in my life for the past 26 years.
She was diagnosed with Alzheimers and Dementia which then grew increasingly worse especially after the death of my amazing Papa. My inspirational Mum became her sole carer after moving my family into her home which she and my Papa built together and dedicating her life to her care. Nana deserved it!
Together we helped support her and my Mum watching the disease take her gradually. Not only did this affect my beautiful Nana but also my immediate family leaving everyone in a very lonely place but there was no chance we were ever going to leave my Nana alone with this.
With the kind, amazing support of Keswick Home, Bookham the latter of her painful days saw Nana become increasingly vulnerable, unfortunately out of the control of my Mum or anyone else. On August 7th 2019 it was time for her to leave us for the angels.
This is such an unfair disease that takes a person away before their time.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
Please help me fight! This October 3rd I am running the marathon in her honor and would love any support towards raising awareness as well as finding a cure through any donations possible!
Thank you a thousand million times xxxxxx
