VOLAAF runs the West of Scotland Autism & Aspergers Centre, Station St, Renton, G82 4NB. It runs various youth clubs, support meetings, training events, play schemes and outings for families affected by ASD. VOLAAF is run completely by volunteers providing a service that is not already available.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  Its not often that I dye my hair blue but this is for a very good cause, for the whole month of April I will be keeping my hair and beard blue to raise money for a wonderful charity VOLAAF (Vale of Leven Austim & Aspergers Forum).

VOLAAF was formed a few years ago when a couple of like minded parents got together and started a support group in a local cafe.  This support group grew into a blossoming family which started to offer youth clubs, outings and training for parents and carers.

Over time the group kept continue to grow which lead to the group fundraising to install a fantastic sensory room in a local community centre. Unfortunately this was not meant to be and VOLAAF became homeless. With the help from local councillors we were able to rent the former Renton nursery. Naming it the West of Scotland Autism & Aspergers Centre and obtaining charitable status at the same time.

The main reason I have dyed my hair is to support Charlene's nephew  Kieran who has autism.  I want to support this cause and to show little kindness can go a long way.
