Story
As some of you may be aware I decided to challenge myself and cross Europe with my bicycle, more than 5000km from Stockholm to Gibraltar. The first part - 2430km from Stockholm to London - I have done already in June and now I am embarking to cycle further 3000km down to Gibraltar.
The hardship but also pleasure of such a trip will be rewarding on a personal level, I know. However, how much more rewarding can it be if such rare occasion can make a difference to so many more people, people who are living in desperate conditions fighting for their lives day by day.
Ever since travelling and backpacking the Yemen in 1991 I have come to love this country, its culture and its people. The recent war that broke out has led to one of the most severe humanitarian crisis in the world with 14m people in risk of starvation, war injuries and fatal illnesses like cholera - all of which goes largely unnoticed by the world.
'Medicins sans Frontieres' are active on the ground in the Yemen to provide crucial medical help to people and children who most acutely need it. They have an incredible tough job day by day and they desperately need financial support to extend and expand their humanitarian aid to help rescuing the lives of the youngest and most vulnerable of the 29m Yemenite people, 50% of which are under the age of 15.
So If you can spare some cash to support this worthy cause I will be very grateful - 100% of all donations made will go directly to MsF. And it surely will be keep me going and motivate me to reach the destination of Gibraltar by mid of October.
