Story

Vonda’s Vision is to create a world where everyone feels loved and valued for exactly who they are.

Vonda - wife, mother, Nan, friend, role model, dog whisperer, artist, and expert taco maker

To celebrate Vonda’s birthday and pay forward the boundless creativity, love, and positivity that she shares with everyone she meets, we are creating the Vonda’s Vision fund.

“You are never too old to set another goal or dream another dream...I believe we are all created equally. I believe we should feed the hungry, care for the hurting ones, and give to the needy. I believe we are on earth for a reason. I believe in the power and energy of our universe. We are all connected.” - Vonda Stevens

All funds raised celebrating Vonda’s 80th birthday will support the ongoing operations of Compass Housing Alliance’s women’s programs - Jan & Peter’s Place and Cascade Women’s Program, which provide emergency housing and focus on supporting and empowering women as they exit homelessness and gain stability in their lives.

The work of each of these programs is deeply rooted in building individual relationships with each guest, resident, and neighbor. Compass communities and programs are built from the inside out, guided by an individualized, person-centered, and trauma-informed approach, which helps case managers and staff meet guests and resident’s “where they’re at”, in support of trust, equity, personal progress, and new beginnings.

Just as Vonda has loved and empowered her three daughters and granddaughter to be strong, confident, independent women, we hope these funds will provide that same love and support to women at Compass programs, creating stability and ending the cycle of homelessness for them and their families.
