Story
This September the Tectona will take to the seas again with 6 crews from across Phoenix taking part. It promises to be another life changing experience!
The voyage will challenge the participants to work together and support each other to make the journey. It will be tough. Service users will be involved in every aspect of sailing the Tectona. They will learn new skills and build confidence that will aid them in the future.
We also hope the boat, as a visible symbol of hope, will show the world that recovery is possible and is happening.
Through fundraising for the Voyage of Recovery we’re enabling our service users and graduates to take on this unique challenge that not only builds teams and friendships, but also illustrates the possiblities of life after addiction.
“I have been on my own personal voyage for the past two years. Coming on this voyage has given me the chance to look back and see just how far I have come. Now a new chapter of my life will start with a positivity of knowing where I am heading. I would like to thank everyone on this boat for the great time we had and will always have. Even if our paths will drift apart I will always remember these times and be able to draw strength to accomplish whatever my heart desires.” – Mike Lofthouse, Service User
“This has been an amazing, unique experience. Their have been too many highlights on the trip to pick one but the thing I’ll take away from this the most is the way every single person has worked together as a team. We’ve achieved something I dont think anyone would have thought possible. I’ve met some amazing people and will always use this trip to remind myself and to show others what can be achieved in recovery. A life beyond your wildest dreams.” – Ben Thompson, Service User
