Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On the 10th September 2011, I along with 14 friends will undertake the 3 peaks challenge. This entails climbing 3 of the highest peaks in the United Kingdom over a 24 hour period.
The challenge starts in Wales when we climb Mount Snowdon, followed by Scaffell Pike in England and finishes on Ben Nevis up in Scotland!.
In memory of my father who we recently lost, I will be raising money for under privileged children in India. The money will go to The Akshaya Patra Foundation, whose motto is unlimited food for education. The foundation runs the largest NGO-run school meal programme, feeding over 1.3million underprivileged children daily in more than 8,260 schools in 18 locations, across 8 states in India.
My family and I, through our charitable foundation, will match pound for pound all contributions that are made for this challenge.
By providing meals to school children, the foundation not only helps in eradicating hunger but encourages education. Education is the single most powerful tool to get an entire family out of the cycle of poverty.
£10, is all it costs to provide one under privileged child a meal at school for an entire year. Please help me to raise £10,000, that will ensure 1,000 under privileged children will be fed for an entire year.
Thank you for supporting this cause that was dear to my late father's heart.
