V Rippon Mid-Essex Cricket Championship
Fundraising for NHS Charities Together
Story
Given the circumstances, and because COVID-19 clearly wants to remove all the fun for everyone, we are running a Virtual Cricket Tournament. We are simulating this season's T Rippon Premier Division (a Virtual T Rippon, or - ‘V Rippon’) on International Cricket Captain, where the T Rippon teams will submit 11 player's names to replace the names of cricketers from two evenly matched teams on the game, and we will then simulate the games to generate the results and scorecards!
We will post all results and updates (detailed scorecards, league table etc) every other day on Twitter (https://twitter.com/BentleyCC_) and Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/bentleycc_/) hopefully giving us something to poke a bit of fun at whilst we stare wistfully out the window at the non-existent start of the season. We are even basing the league table on the T Rippon points system!
We are raising money for ‘NHS Charities Together’, a charity who are in much need of help in these unprecedented times. Please dig deep and give what you can. Our NHS is a national treasure and the funds raised will help staff and volunteers caring for the COVID-19 patients. This is our way of saying a big 'thank you'.
