Story
After completing my Paris marathon run with one (and a half) knee in April, I felt I could do a bit better in the next one! That's why I decided to take up the challenge of running THE MARATHON in my hometown, Athens. It will be a great opportunity to enjoy a run together with friends while raising funds in support of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign (http://www.muscular-dystrophy.org/).
The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is the leading UK charity funding research and providing support for over 60 muscle conditions.
Muscular dystrophies and related neuromuscular conditions are regarded as rare and, in many cases, even ultra-rare conditions for which there are currently no known cures and few effective treatments. Research, however, advances fast and a number of clinical trials to test the clinical benefit of promising technology are under way.
Even a small amount makes a huge difference: £35 can fund one hour of research!!!
