Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We at Vulpine Esports believe that giving people access to the same opportunities regardless of race identity or disability, is imperative to advancing the field of esports.

We are supporting Special Effect for a second time to try and raise even more money for this amazing charity. Please read what they do below.

SpecialEffect enable severely disabled people to use technology to play video games. Harnessing whichever part(s) of their body that work best, SpecialEffect take time to understand and adapt technology to their very individual needs – whether that be chin, foot, finger, toe, ankle, knee or head control – or all of those, they’ll find a way. It’s so important that everyone can join in with family, friends and the gaming community, to be included and not left out. All too often a disability can leave a person ‘on the sidelines’, unable to take part and experience all the fun and inclusion that we know games can bring. Being included hugely benefits mental wellbeing and quality of life – and brings some much needed FUN! Their aim is to enable anyone who needs their support to be able to play the games they want to play. They’re a service for life so as and when things need to be adapted or altered (due to a progressive condition where needs change such as muscular dystrophy or spinal muscular atrophy where muscles weaken over time), and of course when new games are released or the person is ready to take on their next challenge or would like to try something new to keep their interest up, SpecialEffect are there to help.

Tom, a young man they helped wrote simply: ‘Thank you for giving me my life back.’ Sadly Tom died a while ago, but he was kept happily gaming right up to the very night before he passed away. His family are now good friends of SpecialEffect. https://www.dropbox.com/s/uymuwdi6dn51h4q/Tom_HD.mp4?dl=0
