This September, four members of the Wade Financial team will be running the Great North Run in aid of Marie Curie.

Ian, Lynsey, James and Jessica will all be tackling the world's biggest and best half marathon, with all funds raised going towards the Marie Curie Hospice in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.

“We're all very excited to be taking part in this year's Great North Run,” says Ian Little, financial planner with the North Shields-based firm. “In
previous years, we've raised money for Marie Curie via treks,
sponsored activities and fundraisers, as well as through key partners
such as the National Garden Scheme. This year, we're excited to raise
funds and awareness by running one of the most famous half marathons in the world, taking place right here on our doorstep.”

Ian is a member of the development board of Marie Curie's Newcastle hospice, and has seen first hand the excellent work they undertake with terminally ill patients and their families on a daily basis.

“The nurses at Marie Curie were all wonderful with my late mother, and were there to offer,comfort and support in her time of need,” he says. “They are there for people every single day, providing care and warmth, a friendly ear and expertise at what can be a lonely and frightening
time.”

“Their efforts are truly stunning. If we can help the hospice continue their extraordinary work by lacing up our trainers and pounding the
pavements of Newcastle for a few miles, so be it. We hope you'll
donate generously for this worthy cause – and be there to cheer us
on at the finish line!”

We are thoroughly impressed by the team's drive and commitment to support the hospice, and will be matching any funds raised up to £2,000.
