We are Wagada, a digital marketing agency based in St Albans. As a fairly sporty bunch who love a challenge, a number of us have decided to take part in the St Albans Half Marathon on Sunday 9^th June 2019. From 5k to the half marathon itself, we will be training hard to prepare for the big day.

After care and consideration, we chose to support the housing and elderly care charity, Abbeyfield.

Abbeyfield was set up by Richard Carr-Gomm in 1956 after providing home help for the elderly and realising how lonely they often were. He decided to do something about it and set up various communities designed to offer support, security and companionship. There are now over 500 Abbeyfield houses in the UK alone, with even more across the world.

Here at Wagada, we feel that the issue of loneliness and conditions such as dementia in the elderly is something that almost everyone has some experience of whether it be a family member or friend, and is certainly something we hold close to our hearts.

We have set ourselves the challenge of trying to raise at least £1,000 and would really appreciate any donations in support of our run and an amazing charity - it would mean a lot to us and Abbeyfield!
