FORGING A SENSE OF COMMUNITY
Disadvantaged communities in particular benefit greatly from a sense of community spirit and belonging. It is through this support network that people stay united under the umbrella of common concern and shared values & vision. With this in mind, Peoples Needs have so far build Community Centres in remote villages of Rajasthan and Bangladesh which have proved to encourage community cohesion and independence.
Our Community Centres provide a hub for delivering many of our services as well as a number of internal functions/ ceremonies. Examples of usage are:
- Prayer facilities
- Educating children
- Community social activities
- Vocational training and support
- Necessary health check and awareness programmes
- Vaccination programmes for mothers, babies and infants
