Story
Welcome to The Wainwright Ramblers’ fundraising effort!
Last year, we launched a podcast to cover our bid to take on all 214 Wainwrights.
It’s grown into a joyous undertaking and we’ve now got quite the following, which we’d like to utilise for the greater good.
As such, we’re going to see out the second series with a charity hike from Ambleside to Keswick, heading up and down a number of Wainwrights.
We’ve planned a route that covers the length of a marathon with 2000m of elevation gain - it’s a big one.
As part of the challenge, we’re looking to raise money for Keswick Mountain Rescue, which is made up of about 50 volunteers who’re responsible for an area that includes Skiddaw, Helvellyn and Scafell Pike.
These heroes are on call in all weather, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year - it’s a huge undertaking that we, and I’m sure all of you, are forever grateful for.
Anything you can give would be hugely appreciated.
The walk will take place on 7 May and you’ll be able to track our progress on our Instagram - @WainwrightRamblers.
