Seven Sisters Walk for Simon

This walk is in remembrance of Simon Sait, respecting his memory and celebrating all of his many incredible achievements in life, whilst raising money for one of his chosen charities.

On Sunday 29 April 2012 a group of Simon’s friends and family will be meeting at Exceat. We will climb the South Downs from Exceat to the hidden village of Westdene, continuing through Friston Forest to East Dean, and then on to Birling Gap where we will join the South Downs Way coastal path over the Seven Sisters, returning to Exceat via the Cuckmere valley. The walk has been organised by Sol and Rosemary Sait in honour of their son Simon. They would like to invite anyone who knew and cared about Simon to take part.

Simon did so much for charity. He worked tirelessly campaigning for Greenpeace. He cycled over 375km across the diverse terrain of Chile for Computer Aid for Schools. He also climbed Machu Picchu for the charity Mind. Simon was all set to take on his next challenge before he died. This time he planned to cycle along the South Down Way, raising money for Parkinson’s disease. Sadly he was never able to do this as he drowned in a kayaking accident on April 28 2010.

When we remember Simon we try to be better people. The essence of Simon was to help, to inspire, to enjoy every precious moment and to make the world a better place. 

As Simon never had the opportunity to raise money for Parkinson’s, we think the walk would be a great chance for us to raise some money on his behalf. Thank you everyone for taking the time to read this and for your kind donations.  And thank you Simon for giving us the inspiration to also try and help make the world become a better place.
