Story
Thank you to all of those who generously donated last year and whose who continue to show their suppot to such a worthy cause!
2013! This will be the 3rd year for walk-on-Di and after 2 sucessfull previous years we really hope this one will top them both!
In 2011 we raised nearly £700.00
In 2012 we raised OVER £5000.00
Woking hospice is a charity very close to our hearts and the annual walk is being held in memory of Dianne Manser and will be around the date of Paul and Diannes wedding anniversary every year.
We have decided that due to the sucess of last year, This year, we will again be doing the Shere Parish Millennium trail on Saturday 16th March. The walk is approximately 15km, the route is a figure of 8 so you can do the full circuit or just half, whatever your ability!
For the evening, we'll be meeting in West Byfleet social club where they are having a Motown evening.
This year we will be starting and ending in Shere.
To download the route please go to http://www.shereparishcouncil.gov.uk/millennium_trail.php
We would advise you to wear walking boots (comfy trainers) as the terrain will vary and may be muddy in places. It may also be an idea to bring a few snacks and plenty to drink for the journey.
- Meeting Point: - Shere Car Park (number 40 on the map)
- Start Time: 09:45
- Half way Point: number 53 on the map
- Entry Fee: Donation Minimum £5.00 per person
For those of you with small children or if you feel unable to take on this challenge, Come along to the social club or meet us at the finishing point where we will all be enjoying a well deserved beer and bite to eat.
We strongly reccommend that you get sponsors/donations so we have set up a group "just giving" page to make it as easy as possible for people to donate. Please refer your friends and family to http://www.justgiving.com/walk-on-Di alternatively you can collect cash and fill in the group sponsor form on the day.
This walk is not just for people who knew Dianne its for everybody, please forward this email onto anyone that you think may like to take on the challenge!
This is not a race, its just a way for us to get together and do one of the very things Dianne would have loved and to raise money for a good cause.
