Walk the 12 days of Christmas · 1 December 2020

We support younger people living with young onset dementia and their families in Berkshire, Surrey Heath, NE Hants and Farnham. We provide one to one support and activity based workshops across the working week for people with a young onset dementia diagnosis, providing respite for their carers.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are really excited to launch our first ever fundraiser for this group and at the same time announce a great new partnership with Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

We will be working together to deliver a part time 12 month pilot project in the Surrey Heath area.

The service will include groups for those diagnosed with dementia age 65 and under, carers support groups, education sessions and one:one's amongst many others.

We won't be letting the pandemic get in our way and will be working in line with the government's guidelines, delivering the service initially via virtual groups, telephone calls and one to ones.

We know that social interaction is so important to us all, but especially for those living with dementia. We cannot wait to be delivering age appropriate and meaningful activity workshops such as equine therapy, golf and creative arts face to face soon. The monies raised in this fundraiser will go towards these workshops.

In the meantime we will adapt and get creative so please stay tuned for virtual sessions such as art, current affairs, book groups and quiz nights.

The pandemic has been and continues to be a challenging time for us all, but we hope the announcement of this new service brings a little light to those living with young onset dementia, their carers and families in the Surrey Heath area.

We thank you for taking the time to participate in this fundraiser and hope it brings you some joy in these uncertain times. Your contributions will go along way to supporting those living with young onset dementia in this local community.
