Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Sunday 6th August would have been David's 40th birthday.  Please join us in raising money for Brain Tumour Research and help to fight this terrible illness which took David way too young.

It costs £2,740 to fund research for a day so please make a donation to ensure that we can mark David's birthday and give hope to other people fighting against brain tumours.

David's Story told by his wife, Shaz

David sadly lost his battle with his brain tumour on 24 November 2016 after bravely fighting for 5 years. He was originally diagnosed with a Grade 2 Oligoastrocytoma in 2011 when we were expecting our
daughter Layla (I was 31 weeks pregnant).

In 2014 when our son Daniel was only 8 weeks old, David's diagnosis changed to a Grade 4 Glioblastoma. Then his gruelling treatment commenced with radiotherapy, chemotherapy and clinical
trials all playing a part.

David fought so bravely and never once complained about
what he was going through. He Was an avid fundraiser for many charities and even after his diagnosis didn't let cancer stop him from taking action to fundraise himself, completing the London 3 Peaks challenge in 2015 for Stand Up To Cancer and only a month before being admitted into hospital for the final time, completing a Memory Walk for The Alzheimer's Society in September 2016.

He gave so much and now we want to keep his desire alive
by fundraising in his memory. Please help us and make David proud!

David would have turned 40 on Sunday 6 August 2016 so we
have chosen this date for our Memorial Walk. There will be two distances (hoping for 5km and 10 km) which will both be wheelchair and pushchair friendly, to raise funds for Brain Tumour Research which is a charity close to our hearts.

Please keep visiting this page and our Facebook Group for updates as we finalise details.

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under 40 years old than any other cancer and yet only 1% of the national spend on research into cancer is spent on this devastating disease. We want to put an end to the uncertainty and suffering of patients and their loved ones by
raising much needed funds to help find a cure.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
