WALK 4 LUKE · 19 June 2010

We support those affected by brain injury in East Sussex. This can be natural causes such as a stroke or an accident. We offer emotional reassurance, rehabilitation and respite both at our Newick centre and in the community. This includes family and friends as well as the individual.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our Just Giving Page.

Luke Bland tragically lost his life in a Road Traffic Collision in February 2009.

Ben Blackford was Luke’s best friend, Ben sustained a severe Brain Injury as well as other injuries during the collision.

Ben receives Outreach Support from Headway Hurstwood Park as part of his rehabilitation.

We are working with Ben to organise an event to celebrate Luke’s life and to support Ben with channelling his emotions in a positive way.

The WALK4LUKE is a 20 mile walk across the South Downs, we plan to raise money to buy musical instruments, including drums, for Uckfield schools, in memory of Luke as he was a very talented Drummer.

We would like to thank everyone who has sponsored us so far, and to everyone who is supporting us for this special event.

With Ben’s rehabilitation paramount we have decided that as a focus for Ben moving forward and having the ability to recognise achievements, increase motivation and incentive after The WALK4LUKE, we will participate in the Transylvanian Trek to raise money for The Encephalitis Society.
