Just Walk 2009 · 9 May 2009 ·

We are a small charity providing a a programme of skating and stick skills to allow people with learning and developmental disabilities to participate in the 'coolest' sport in a fun and safe manner. We run the club on volunteer basis and all coaches are qualified under our sports governing body.

Story

We're walking for the Werewolves!

No, not some hairy wolf-like figures, but a friendly bunch of children and young people who either have a disability or special need and are playing the coolest sport in the world - Ice hockey!

So what are we doing?

Well on the 9th May, we will be walking a whopping 40km of the lovely hills and countryside that they call The South Downs.

Who are these Werewolves then?

The Werewolves of London disabled and special needs ice hockey team; was set up in 2002 by a parent (Mike Dwyer). Since 2002 the club has grown, and they now have around 70 players.

Thank you for helping us. If you'd like any more information on the Werewolves of London, please see their web page :

Thanks
