Story
Alan Bond, Chris Broadbent Jeremy Vallance, Jon Hydon, Mark Thomas, Mike Easton, Nick Hammond, Peter Harris and Rhys Hammond are walking the length of Dartmoor on 11-12 July, a challenge of around 30 miles of unforgiving terrain and probably a hairy hand or two.
Why?
Martha and Freddie Broadbent were born 10 weeks premature at Musgrove Hospital, Taunton on 15 January 2013. Both barely weighed 2lbs on arrival. They were taken care of six weeks in total. Two and a half years on they are happy, healthy children.
The care received at the Neo-Natal Unit went way beyond standard medical support. As parents, we were accomodated for free on site through the League of Friends charity and we all received brilliant emotional support and guidance throughout what could have been a very distressing time.
This is one of hundreds of stories that will emerge from this incredible place every year. Not all of them have a happy ending. To help create more happy endings please make your contribution, no matter how small. It will be much appreciated.
