Story
I'm helping to keep hearts beating this Heart Month by taking on the 100 Mile Walk for Hearts challenge throughout February to help fund lifesaving research.
In November, we lost my grandad Steve Thomas at just sixty-six. We were close, and life just hasn’t been the same without his stream of advice, or wicked sense of humour. Neither has life ever been so still - my grandad was one of the most active people I have ever known, so it is only fitting that we remember him by getting out and doing something.
Losing him makes this cause personal to my family and I, but this was always a campaign that my grandad felt strongly about - in 2015, he ran the London Marathon in support of the British Heart Foundation.
Every three minutes, someone in the UK dies from cardiovascular disease. With your support, British Heart Foundation can power research that will enable people to live longer, healthier lives.
