Story
Kieran and Anders are on day 4 of their journey. .. walking is over... let the healing begin. They are now tucked in bed nursing their wounds. The 12 hours of torrential rain on friday was a major setback but yesterday after a good rest they managed to walk 40 miles in 1 day with unspeakably painful blisters Which turned into gaping wounds. This is an incredible faet and if they weren't doing this for charity and honouring all of your generous donations, there is a good chance they might have given up, but they did not and that is what its all about. We can't give up on the kids either.
They are raising money for Ukuthemba, a
foundation which rescues babies and toddlers in South Africa. The
foundation fosters children from birth to adulthood in families of 6 with a
dedicated house mother. Financial support is needed to ensure that the children
are cared for, educated and nurtured throughout their childhood. www.ukuthemba.org
Kieran and Anders have both spent time in South Africa at some point in their respective lives and have seen first hand that in spite of all the hardship and negativity
there is so much positive change
that emerges in small ways, sometimes even just one child at a time.
We admire Ukuthemba's tenacity to keep raising money ensuring they can
continue to uphold the promise of a safe place for the children.
This walk seems like a great
way to get the UK involved in raising funds.
