I have volunteered for KIB for 2 years, i have seen the staggering benefits the charity provides for the elderly in carehomes and in hospitals. Every Monday (before covid) i would walk down to the hospital and volunteer for the charity, our main aim was to increase morale within the wards with the elderly. First hand i have seen how much you can make someones day by just speaking to them about their day and how there feeling. It is staggering, as a lot of the elderly people i would speak to, normally wouldn't have much family and were sometimes confused to why they were there and were feeling a bit lonely and down but what the charity brings is a sense of comfort and warmth for these patients who maybe haven't even had a conversation with someone for maybe days/ weeks or even months.
