Walk New York · 13 November 2007 ·

We are a national charity working to transform the hopes and happiness of young people facing abuse, exploitation and neglect. We support them through their most serious life challenges and we campaign tirelessly for the big social changes that will improve the lives of those who need hope most.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. We are raising money for The Children's Society, and as part of this, are walking a half-marathon in New York in November. We have also held a clothes swapping party, run a cake sale, had a stall at some car boot sales and been bag packing in M&S.

WE DID IT! We well and truly walked New York. Ninety-eight of us took part, and a sea of purple tee-shirts worked its way through the streets of Mahattan.

The route took us all through Wall Street, across the Brooklyn bridge, through Washington Park, past the Empire State Building & Macy's, up Broadway and through Times Square, along 5th Avenue and Madison Ave, into Grand Central Station, past the Chrysler building, around the edge of Central Park and finished back at our hotel on the Upper East Side - phew. Thank goodness there were a large pile of pastries waiting for us at the end!

We've now reached our target of £3000 but we'd love to raise as much as possible, so will be carrying on collecting over the next few weeks. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far.

Many thanks,

Amy and Elli
