Dorking Nursery School

The Walk to London · 3 June 2021
Dorking Nursery School is the only outstanding rated Nursery School in Dorking, supporting families since 1939.
Learning outside is a vital part of the curriculum we offer at Dorking Nursery School. Learning outdoors creates a 'no limits' experiences and promotes further risk taking, creativity, problem-solving, independence and confidence. At Dorking Nursery School - 'all weather is good weather!' Our gardens are open to children all day and therefore we need to be prepared for the weather so this does not stop us! We provide full wet weather clothes and waterproofs so that the weather is not our barrier to learning - in fact it enhances it! Ensuring that all children have access to appropriate wet weather waterproofs enables the children to experience even the wettest of days!
We also provide Forest school experience for children - so wearing the waterproofs helps the children to enjoy their experience!
Our waterproofs are now a number of years old and have seen better days. With all the cuts to funding that have been made although we need to replace the waterproofs , we do not have money in the budget to do this. We therefore decided to get together and raise some funds and have some fun along the way.
Kelly Sandra and Eleanor decided to have a crazy walk From Dorking to London (23miles). This was where some of the first ever children at Dorking Nursery School were evacuated from in 1939. This will be done on 3 June 2021, which is during our half term holiday.
Any donation, large or small will be gratefully received and if you can add gift aid that would be great.
Just remember it's all for the children!
