About Me

My name is Des Francis and i live and work in Torbay and surrounding areas.Welcome to my fundraising page.I was hoping to walk between Walsall and Plymouth shortly after xmas but due to difficulties planning the event this is pending.If we have sufficient interest and the event is doable it will take place starting Boxing Day and ending in Plymouth Home Park on match day with Walsall Football Club....If for any reason the event cannot take place I will be challenging myself by partaking in the Meonstoke Winter Cross Ultra 50k....(This is a difficult trail event which must be completed between the hours of 7.30am and 4.30pm)

I am hoping that locals,friends,associates and relatives  will get behind my efforts, as the funds I raise will be going to help give special days to some really brave local children. This will also include giving children from Mary Elliot SEN school in Walsall a special theatre day and giving a surfing experience to the kids from Downham House Children's Home in Plymouth.

About Happy Days Children's Charity

Since 1992, Happy Days has been gifting supportive breaks like trips to the seaside, theatres, zoos, museums, outdoor activity centres, sporting events and other educational and cultural activities, to children living with mental, physical and emotional difficulties.

As well as helping families and groups, we’re also proud to offer our support to other charities such as children’s hospitals and hospices, local women’s refuges and victim support services, to name just a few.  

Happy Days supports around 60 children with additional needs every day, giving them a chance to get out, meet new people, develop new skills and build confidence in the face of adversity.
