Story
The challenge is simple: can a recording studio boss and a journalist, both with limited cycling experience, complete nearly 1,000 miles to raise £5k for charity.
Warren Evans and Martyn Smith are boys from the Black Country, both on the grown up side of 40, who are planning to set out from John O’Groats on bicycles with the aim of getting to Land’s End around 12 days later.
Traveling light and with no support vehicle the pair will depart on Saturday June 8 with only each other for company.
All they will have is a list of hotels, a map and the knowledge failure to get there each day will result in a night under the stars and maybe rain, fog or whatever else Britain’s weather dumps on them.
Their mission is to reach the milestone of raising £5,000 for Dementia UK.
Wish them luck - they are going to need it - and please make a donation - lots of people are going to need it.
