London Marathon 2018 · 22 April 2018 ·

A page for those taking part in Virgin Money London Marathon for Sense - the national charity that supports people who are deafblind, those with sensory impairments and those with complex needs.

Story

I'm running the London marathon for my son Lucas.

He has sensory processing disorder and is non verbal, which makes it very difficult for him to communicate. Through all of his challenges, he is still one of the happiest kids I know; he has an infectious smile and irrational love all things insect. He has so much love to give!

This will be my first marathon (which terrifies me) and I am doing it in the hope that I can inspire my son (and myself) to know that any obstacle can be overcome with the right attitude.

I'm running for Sense because their expertise help support people who are deaf blind, have sensory impairments or complex needs and to enjoy more independent lives.
