Story

As most of you know Karen and I lost our little boy in August last year at 21 weeks. This run is just over a year on from that happening.Sadly there are many families that suffer from similar losses and it has become apparent to me that many just keep their loss to themselves.

Sands is the stillbirth and neonatal death charity. They operate throughout the UK, supporting anyone affected by the death of a baby, working to improve the care bereaved parents receive, and promoting research to reduce the loss of babies' lives.

This year, the charity is recognising the support of volunteers, befrienders, fundraisers, healthcare professionals (including midwives) for their contributions towards Sands' aims to support anyone affected by the death of a baby over the past 40 years across the UK.

The Sands 40th anniversary is also a way to acknowledge the charity's impact on the lives of many bereaved parents, improvements in bereavement care and funding vital research to help reduce the number of babies dying.

Every pound that is raised is used to help families in their time of loss and also helps fund extra research to help reduce the number of babies dying, surely worth a donation.

Please look through Sands website if you are affected by this topic and i would urge you to talk to those you know have been affected.

Thanks for all the support,

Warren Spencer & Sands
