400,000 Step Challenge 2024 · 6 October 2024 to 14 November 2024 ·

10,000 steps a day for 40 days in support of the 400,000 people living with type 1 diabetes in the UK. The challenge starts on Sunday 6th October and finishes on World Diabetes Day (14th November).

Story

It's that time again where I'm gunna be stretching my legs and attempt to raise as much money as possible for this amazing Charity.

Type 1 diabetes is a cruel condition and not only life changing for the individual but also those close to them.

Our family is nearly 5 years in (5th November is our diaversary) with our son Finley, we are still learning every day we have our ups and downs but fortunately with the support of ever changing technology we have adapted, but this does have it's own challenges.

If you can support us on my journey it will go along way to finding a cure.

400,000 people are currently living with type 1 diabetes in the UK, I want to change that.

I’m taking part in The 400,000 Step Challenge for breakthroughs in type 1 diabetes research to make a difference to the lives of people affected by type 1!

Every £11 could help a recently diagnosed child no longer feel alone with their type 1 diabetes. They now have a fluffy best friend called Rufus who also has type 1 diabetes, and special felt patches on his test and injection sites to help children practice on.

Every £25 could pay for an hour of research nurse support for someone involved in a clinical trial, which could ultimately lead to the next big breakthrough. Without this support there would be no trial.

Every £115 could pay for one person to be screened for type 1 diabetes, to help prevent undiagnosed complications and save lives.

Thank you for your support, whatever you donate is really appreciated. Together, we can help to cure type 1 diabetes!
